Manual Sales Posting
Manual sales are posted by date and location or revenue center. Usually in a sales location (for example, Restaurant) a sale is posted using any application or posted without any electronic record. There will be a hard copy record for each sale that happens on a specific date within a location. Eatec has inventory control, and all the activities of an inventory are being recorded with an account. Account entry happens when a transaction is posted. For auditing purposes and to maintain an electronic record, Eatec is used to post a sale manually with media type (sales using cash or credit, etc.). By this means there will always be a record created with taxes, media, sales, inventory depletion, and cost of sales.
Eatec also allows for posted sales transaction reversal in case of duplicate sale posting or wrong data posted during manual sales posting. When a transaction is reversed then, taxes, media, sales, inventory depletion, and cost of sales are all reversed. The valuation of the depletion sometimes varies slightly from the original posting because the reversal is valued at current cost rather than the weighted-average cost of the original depletion.
Configuration of electronic sales postings is completed during the implementation of the catering or POS interface. Manual sales posting requires configuration of media types or, in other words, payment types and locations.
