Inventory Sub Types
Inventory items can be further divided into sub types to group them precisely. Users can perform the following under Inventory Sub Types:

Create inventory types

Modify inventory types

Deactivate inventory types

Activate inventory types
Users can set up inventory sub types by performing the following steps:
Click Setup ➜ Inventory ➜ Inventory Sub Types.
Creating Inventory Sub Types
Users can create a new sub inventory type by performing the following steps:
Click Create New. The New Sub Inventory Types page appears.
Refer to the following table and fill in the fields:

Identifier |
The identifier value. |
Code |
The unique identification code for the inventory sub type. |
Inventory Type |
The inventory type that must be mapped to the inventory sub type. |
Is Active |
Flag that indicates whether the inventory sub type is active or inactive. By default, this flag appears toggled on (active) when creating a inventory sub type and cannot be toggled off. This flag can be toggled off to deactivate the inventory sub type when opened for modification. Once toggled off, the deactivated inventory sub type will be displayed on the Inventory Sub Type page only if the Show Active Only flag is toggled off. |
Click Create.
Modifying Inventory Sub Types
Users can modify existing sub inventory type by performing the following steps:
Click the ellipsis under Actions corresponding to the preferred sub inventory type.
Click Edit. The Edit Sub Inventory Types page appears.
Modify the required details.
Click Update.
Deactivating Inventory Sub Types
Users can deactivate existing sub inventory type by performing the following steps:
Click the ellipsis under Actions corresponding to the preferred sub inventory type.
Click Deactivate. The system prompts the user to confirm the deactivation.
Click Confirm.
Activating Inventory Sub Types
Users can activate a deactivated sub inventory type by performing the following steps:
Toggle off the Show Active Only flag to view the deactivated sub inventory type. The deactivated sub inventory types appear.
Select a deactivated inventory subtype.
Click the ellipsis under Actions corresponding to the preferred sub inventory type.
Click Deactivate. The system prompts the user to confirm the deactivation.
Click Confirm.
